Editing Software

Editing Software

Throughout the duration of the project I will be using various software in order to make sure that my items remain as successful and professional as possible. The software that I am going to be using most frequently are Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Premiere CS3. These programs will be used both in the creation of my digipak and magazine advert, but also the editing of my video. As a result of this, these two programs will be fundamental in the overall production of my project as if they are used correctly, they will allow me to achieve the highest grade possible and leave me with a high quality and professional product. However, I may also have to use Adobe After Effects so that I can edit clips from my video and add in effects if they are needed. This will be a new product for me to use, and this therefore may be a hindrance to the project as a whole.

Firstly, I will be using Photoshop and a variety of its tools that it offers not only to to edit the images that I have taken to place on my digipak and magazine advert, but also to arrange the overall layout of these tasks and make them as presentable and successful as possible. Photoshop will allow me to cut images and blend them together if needed, but will also allow me to use visual effects so that my pieces will be graphically pleasing and interesting to the audience. I believe that effects like filters, lens flares and editing the hue and saturation of images will allow viewers to see that I have skills in using Photoshop but the most important factor of doing this will mainly be that it will be for their pleasure.

Next, I will be using Adobe Premiere for the majority of my time on this task as I will be using it for editing my music video, which in full will take up the most of my time. I have recent knowledge on how to use the software as I have used it in other tasks to create videos and presentations. I must make sure that I place all of my clips onto a timeline and remove their audio that is with them by unlinking the clips. After this, I will import my song for the video and edit the clips around the song so that it flows and there is a smooth, video that is easy to watch video for my intended audience.

Finally, I may have to use Adobe After Effects in the creation of my video if I would like to place special effects into my video or even for something as simple as brightening or darkening a clip. I believe that this will be a challenge as I have never used this software before and will therefore need to be taught how to produce certain effects, therefore this is then a risk as they may not be very successful due to the fact that I have never done this before. However, throughout my video there will be very few chances for special effects to be used as it is heavily based around a narrative.
