Research Into Existing Music Labels


Above is my research into existing labels which I conducted in order to increase my knowledge on the music industry, how it runs and who are the major firms inside it. In this case, I looked at the three largest companies and what percentage of the market they owned. Furthermore, I took interest in what labels these companies owned and how diverse they were. However, I was most shocked at the fact that the company that owned the third largest share of the market was the independent labells. This revealed to me that there is a big following for independent music and artists, and this fits in with what I am creating as my music video will be for an independent artist.
