Music Video Theory.



I looked at the theories involved in the analysis of music videos and in particular the ideas of Andrew Goodwin. Looking into the theories of Andrew Goodwin was not only an interesting task, but it also reflected what needs to be included into my music video and how I am going to make my video adhere to the general conventions of every music video. For example, his theory on the five conventions that the audience look out for in music videos has highlighted to me what conventions my music video will include and therefore what makes my video conform to the norms. From this, I have taken away what will be included in my video and how this will be received by the audience, and ultimately how to create a successful video.
